Child stands in pyjamas on a windowsill on the 3rd floor! What a stranger then does is impressive
Sembawang (Singapore) - Rescue at the last second! The courageous intervention of a passer-by saved the life of a child in Singapore. Eyewitnesses rightly ask themselves: Where were his parents at that moment?

The child had probably climbed out of the wide open window on the third floor in the town of Sembawang on Sunday and then stood on the narrow window sill.
Eyewitness Nela M. Hock filmed the incident, while other passers-by reacted quickly and stretched a white bed sheet on the floor to catch the child in the worst-case scenario.
One man didn't want to wait for the little boy, who appears to have been no older than five, to fall, so he quickly climbed up the side of the building.
The stranger finally balanced over the window sill to the child and took him protectively in his arms. When the man noticed the open window, he lifted the child into the safety of the apartment.
According to Nela M. Hock, passers-by knocked on the family's front door several times after discovering the child and no one responded.

Police investigate parents

However, adults were definitely at home. This can be seen in the video when the heroic passer-by handed the boy through the window and arms of a person took the child.
"Please be more responsible and careful, especially if you have small children at home," Nela warned. "Either put up a window screen or close your window!"
And she added: "You're lucky that boy didn't jump or miss the kick."
For the eyewitness, the brave passer-by would have been a "hero". "Fortunately, the hero was able to climb to the third floor. Can you imagine what would have happened on a higher floor?"
According to AsiaOne, the parents are being investigated for negligence. The child was taken to hospital as a precaution.
